Uber Trip Experiences – What is Uber Feed?
How does Uber Feed work? A guide to Uber Feed‘s Features
Uber Feed is a new feature being introduced by Uber across all markets.
Uber Feed offers a selection of ‘interactive information screens’ on a passenger’s Uber App (which appear while an Uber trip is in-progress). The screens automatically pop up at the bottom of a passenger’s App, and let riders use third party apps (i.e., Snapchat, Yelp, etc) while traveling.
How does Uber Feed work?
Anyone familiar with Uber’s regular app knows what happens after you’ve successfully found your driver & hopped into your vehicle. As your car starts driving, your Uber App features a simple map, which tracks your car as it goes from Point A to Point B.
Uber Feed aims to fill that ‘dead space’, by filling your trip with useable (and useful) information that may be helpful to riders — especially details which may be relevant or useful to your trip (for instance, a list of UberEats restaurants available in your destination-area).
With Uber Feed, riders can simply use their finger to ‘swipe up’ — guiding them through a list of selected services.
The list of integrated external apps that will initially be available in the ‘Uber Feed’ are:
Eventually, Uber will also feature in-app Transit Integration services (i.e., you will be able to navigate buses, trains, and other transit options beyond Uber).
How is Uber Feed helpful?
Eventually, Uber intends to expand its third-party integration services to feature an extensive range of apps (such as messaging clients, popular games, etc) within the Uber App.
By keeping all of a passenger’s activity inside a single app-space, Uber aims to make the Uber Trip experience more seamless, less challenging, and more interactive. The goal is to optimize the rider’s time and productivity, helping passengers get things done effortlessly without the difficulty of switching between individual apps on their smartphone.
